first game; VIDEO. action for new bark i guess but who is even in new bark right now?
[ It takes her no time at all to figure out how to work the gear. Nanami is good with electronics, especially the handheld sort that hold games on them (and she did look at the games that came preloaded first off, and then wasted some of her starter cash on one or two of the others...) so it was easy.
...Except that after she finished playing around with that, Nanami spent several days trying to play the game. As in "Pokémon". She eventually gives this up, but it admittedly takes a while. After turning on the video function, she pauses. Takes a moment to collect her thoughts. This is accomplished by staring off into space before refocusing. ]
...Hello. My name is Nanami Chiaki. I’m a Super High-school Level Gamer. ...I'm pretty good with all genres.
[ That's the unimportant stuff. Moving on to the stuff that actually matters: ]
...Although this is certainly "Pokémon", it's a sequel or something, right? New locations, new creatures...even so, there are so many differences compared to that game, aren't there? Almost too many...
[ She puffs out her cheeks, a silent pout, before continuing past her pause. ]
...I started out with a partner already, without having to visit the Professor. There was no point where I was supposed to choose my partner...or my gender, or name, although I don't mind that. ...While I like Munna, that's a little weird, isn't it? And even if the plot is different in this game, which is normal...
I haven't been able to trigger any quests so far, you know? Or tutorials. ...Maybe that ferry to Kanto would be the right choice, but couldn't that be a case of skipping ahead to the boss area without being properly leveled? That I haven't even had a rival encounter, isn't that worrying?
[ Nanami falls silent for a second before her main concern comes out, said more quietly than the rest, though she hadn't been speaking loudly to start with. ]
...It's not working properly.
[ That's...that's apparently all she wanted to bring up...? Trapped in the world of Pokémon, her main concern is apparently that the game is wrong. Where are the quests she knows she ought to be having, or the characters she ought to be meeting? Perhaps it's best to leave her to it...Ah, no, wait. It appears she has a bit more to say. ]
...If there's a new sequence to trigger the main quest, I'd like to know that, please. I'll keep trying to find it in the meantime. ...Ah, it's hard to trigger secret codes if you're in the game itself, isn't it...? At least, the normal codes are a no-go. I'll have to think of something else.
[ ...never mind, this is absolutely the time to leave her to her thoughts. Nanami ends the video after another pause, undoubtedly going off to try to "start" her game once again. ]

Hagakure's basically gaping at the screen when he responds.]
D-Did you just say Super High-School Level? Are you from Hope's Peak??
[video] 1/2
We should be talking about Pokemon, instead.
...
Give her a few seconds, here. She's thinking about what to say. ]
[video] 2/2
...Super High-School Level Gamer. ...That's not incorrect.
He's also not sure how to handle this, since he's never met anyone else from Hope's Peak aside from his classmates. He's not even sure if she would know about the incident, so should he say anything...? Maybe not. Better see what the others think.]
Whoa, I never thought I'd run into someone else from the school that I didn't know. I'm Yasuhiro Hagakure, the Super High-School Level Fortune Teller! There's actually a couple other students here too.
There's an even longer pause, because what's she supposed to do next. This person asked about her, so...
What the gently caress seems accurate about now.
First things first. ]
It's nice to meet you, Hagakure-san. ...Hagakure-senpai?
[ ??? Decide on this later. Move on. ]
...Can I ask what other students are here?
[ Her classmates will probably respond if they're around, but she'll ask anyway. ]
[Well that came out unintentionally awkward. He doesn't know her that well to be using nicknames but any fellow student from Hope's Peak has gotta be a friend, right?
But yeah they can be confused together because Hagakure has no idea how the hell he should be handling this either.
Like, would his classmates want him talking about them to a fellow student before they met her?
Well...there can't be any harm, right??]
Let's see, there's Makoto Naegi, Kyouko Kirigiri, Byakuya Togami, Leon Kuwata, Kiyotaka Ishimaru, Mondo Oowada, aaand Celes Ludenberg.
[He pauses to see if he forgot anyone, but nods when he knows he got it right now. He's...actually kind of impressed he remembered their full names too.]
There were some others here too, but this place randomly sends people home just like it randomly brings people here.
...Well, given everything, maybe it's not?
...Surely at least one of those people...?
Oh, wait. ]
What does Togami-kun look like?
[ But the answer will probably be "thin". ]
But Hagakure's happy to oblige!!]
He's tall, blonde, has glasses, kinda looks like a beanpole, and has a stick-up-his-ass-I'm-better-than-you expression on his face all the time. Why?
[ Unfortunately. Okay, looks like none of her classmates are here. Not even the others like her...?
Though, given that mix, it's not surprising. ]
So, I guess he's Togami-senpai.
[ She will just stick to that for now. That's what younger students do in games. ]
...So, do you know how to start the game?
[ Getting right back on topic here, I'm sure you have no further questions, Hagakure. ]
HE HAS A LOT OF FURTHER QUESTIONS ACTUALLY.]
W-Wait, wait!! What do you mean you know another Togami-chi but not this Togami-chi?! That doesn't make any sense, dude!
Also wait again, so you are saying you started school after us? Did you get to talk to any of us already? Aside from Togami-chi I guess...?
[Look, he's forgotten a lot the last two years. He wouldn't really know any of his underclassmen...or upperclassmen for that matter.]
[ She'll totally stop if she got it wrong, Hagakure. ]
...As to that, aren't there people in this world who share the same name?
[Okay it's really really hard to not talk about the incident.]
Well yeah, but something tells me the world couldn't handle more than one Byakuya Togami... [But he'll humor Nanami this time.] What's your Togami-chi like?
[ She's pausing here, thinking about it. ]
Togami-kun is very round...and also very kind. He...would be a very good leader, although he's strict and scolds. ...He's that kind of character.
[Highlighting the "very kind" part especially.
Okay so Togami isn't completely void of kindness but...]
Did any of your other classmates actually show up with you, Nanami-chi? I found a bunch of mine right away when I got here.
[ Which is...kind of depressing.
It's not like there aren't people she knows, but people who know her...
That one is a bit harder. ]
So...since that's the case, they're probably not here. ...If any of them were, they'd have said something by now, or I'd have seen them.
[He can only imagine how weird it would be to end up in this world with a bunch of people from your school but no one from your class.]
Well hey, it's not like you're gonna be left out, right? Us Hope's Peak people gotta stick together! You can totally hang with us anytime.
[JUST MAKING DECISIONS FOR THE REST OF THE DANGAN HOUSE, NO BIG DEAL.]
[ Although you know your classmates are going to murder you a bit for casually making decisions for them, right?
Well, Kirigiri will be/has told her to head to Violet and that she'll give her more information at that point, so. ]
As long as you're all here...it's okay. ...Classmates or not, you're still...
[ ...People who are familiar in some way? ]
...schoolmates.
[He says the nickname with enthusiasm now. Nanami seems like a pretty cool person!]
... Ah, did you still need info on the Pokemon stuff? S-Sorry, I got kinda sidetracked.
[Now we're on the important subject, right?]
[ Not herself.
AND YES, they are finally onto the topic that MATTERS. ]
As to that...I suppose I just want to know about any changes to look out for...And if there's a plot?
[That he's completely ignored despite being a trainer.]
What kinda changes do you have in mind? Sorry, I don't remember the games that well...it's been ages since I played them, dude.
[He racks his brain for any things that have changed from the original games.]
Well I dunno if it affects battle mechanics, but I know there's a couple new ways for Pokemon to evolve. New evolving items and stuff like that. And I guess some Pokemon evolve when they're really happy and close to their trainer too.
