first game; VIDEO. action for new bark i guess but who is even in new bark right now?
[ It takes her no time at all to figure out how to work the gear. Nanami is good with electronics, especially the handheld sort that hold games on them (and she did look at the games that came preloaded first off, and then wasted some of her starter cash on one or two of the others...) so it was easy.
...Except that after she finished playing around with that, Nanami spent several days trying to play the game. As in "Pokémon". She eventually gives this up, but it admittedly takes a while. After turning on the video function, she pauses. Takes a moment to collect her thoughts. This is accomplished by staring off into space before refocusing. ]
...Hello. My name is Nanami Chiaki. I’m a Super High-school Level Gamer. ...I'm pretty good with all genres.
[ That's the unimportant stuff. Moving on to the stuff that actually matters: ]
...Although this is certainly "Pokémon", it's a sequel or something, right? New locations, new creatures...even so, there are so many differences compared to that game, aren't there? Almost too many...
[ She puffs out her cheeks, a silent pout, before continuing past her pause. ]
...I started out with a partner already, without having to visit the Professor. There was no point where I was supposed to choose my partner...or my gender, or name, although I don't mind that. ...While I like Munna, that's a little weird, isn't it? And even if the plot is different in this game, which is normal...
I haven't been able to trigger any quests so far, you know? Or tutorials. ...Maybe that ferry to Kanto would be the right choice, but couldn't that be a case of skipping ahead to the boss area without being properly leveled? That I haven't even had a rival encounter, isn't that worrying?
[ Nanami falls silent for a second before her main concern comes out, said more quietly than the rest, though she hadn't been speaking loudly to start with. ]
...It's not working properly.
[ That's...that's apparently all she wanted to bring up...? Trapped in the world of Pokémon, her main concern is apparently that the game is wrong. Where are the quests she knows she ought to be having, or the characters she ought to be meeting? Perhaps it's best to leave her to it...Ah, no, wait. It appears she has a bit more to say. ]
...If there's a new sequence to trigger the main quest, I'd like to know that, please. I'll keep trying to find it in the meantime. ...Ah, it's hard to trigger secret codes if you're in the game itself, isn't it...? At least, the normal codes are a no-go. I'll have to think of something else.
[ ...never mind, this is absolutely the time to leave her to her thoughts. Nanami ends the video after another pause, undoubtedly going off to try to "start" her game once again. ]

So we're not like the big hero trainers who catch Legendaries and have rivals and take down Team Rocket and stuff, we're just normal trainers going on our own journeys.
Some people start out as Breeders, too! So not everyone's even a trainer.

Another one! Talking to her.
...Just give her a minute to calm down, this is unprecedented. That's...definitely that guy, right? She's played this game. ]
...My card says I'm a trainer. So...there isn't a storyline here...?

The others probably filled you in already, but you can't exactly tackle being a Pokemon trainer like in the games. [With unlimited grinding and cheats. Their Pokemon are living creatures and do need their breaks.] The closest thing to a tutorial we get is our starting manual.

Super High School Level Gamer, huh?
[Wow, that sounds even more useless than his title!]
I'm Mondo Oowada, Super High School Level Biker Gang Leader. It's nice to meet someone else from Hope's Peak!
[Though by now she's probably met a few of the others. He's a bit late to responding thanks to work. Mondo absently runs a hand through the back of his hair, still grinning a bit awkwardly.]
I can't really tell you much about the Pokémon games 'cause I never really had a chance to play 'em, but this definitely seems like the world, y'know? I mean, there are a lot of Pokémon other than fucking Pikachu, but it's a pretty great place!
[Much better than a murder school, at any rate.]
Ah...it's nice to make your acquaintance, Oowada-senpai.
[ .......She talked to Hagakure first, and somehow that suffix came out of it.
Technically, these students meet the requirements in relation to her person, right? They're older, and started before her.
...She thinks. ]
...It's too bad you didn't get to play them, but I guess not everyone did. Ah, my classmates might not have either. Tsumiki-san had never played any games before she played them with me...
...I think that's probably a bit sad.
