[ It's this girl again, apparently. At least this time she's using voice, so the pauses of staring off into space are now...well, small silences before she speaks. Whether that's better or worse is up in the air. ]

...Tomorrow, I start my first-ever job. Well...I've had other jobs, but those things, they were all character jobs, weren't they...? I tried to get a job at the Game Corner, but running the games was a no-go, so I decided to try for the Pokemart instead.

...Besides, watching other people play games was...a little sad. I also wanted to play. Have you ever heard of "Voltorb Flip"? That definitely wasn't in the Game Corner when I played, but I've learned the rules and it's quite fun...it's a cross between two other things, right? Ah, but there's a limit to the amount you can win from a session, apparently. That makes sense, I guess.

If it's items from the game, I'm confident in my ability to know what they do. So, I will do my best at the Pokemart. Also, I...wanted to thank everyone who offered me help so far here. The people in this place are...very nice, aren't they?

For most of Sunday morning after her arrival (since...Leon just finished bringing her back that morning) and after her brief job search in the interest of that being something people apparently do, Nanami can be found in the Game Corner in Goldenrod. She's playing Voltorb Flip. ...Or, rather, she's winning at Voltorb Flip. Anyone who watches her will be able to tell she's been playing a while, and seems to be at a fairly high level, barely hesitating on her moves. While she seems to be entirely focused on the game, she'll probably speak to anyone who happens to approach her during the game. Otherwise, she's easy enough to catch between rounds.

She'll eventually wander back towards the Dangan House (...which would have been a better place to stay put to start with, but if you're in Goldenrod, you have to go to the Game Corner, right?), where she will...

...play Primeape Panic or Robot Rapidash Attack on her gear in the living room, where she'll be bunking on one of the fold-out sofa beds whenever she's told to go to sleep. Since that probably hasn't happened yet, she'll just be happily sitting on one of the couches, lost to the world of gaming. Nanami has a very specific favorite way to spend her time, okay. In either location her Munna can be found sleeping in her lap. ]

[Well, the Game Corner isn't anywhere Ishimaru frequents because...quite frankly he is Bad At Gambling and he isn't willing to capriciously do anything, much less when money is involved; however, the Dangan House kind of is somewhere he frequents, and while he has learned to expect a lot of things when he enters the place after work (sudden Eevee swarm, Togami being surly, Leon being surly, Kirigiri being surly, his Misdreavus suddenly materializing out of nowhere, a second wave of a sudden Eevee swarm...), a strange girl on the couch is exactly none of them.

Fortunately he was...somewhat mentally prepared for this by the discussion the other day; unfortunately, he finds himself not actually prepared for this in the least.]

[ Please hold, Ishimaru. This is a very important moment, and if she messed up the timing at all, her little plumber guy is going to die. She can't let that happen to not-Mario. It would be tragic. Then how would he ever save not-Paula from not-Donkey Kong?

She's not ignoring you, really. After a moment or two of complete and utter silence as she continued her game, Nanami clears the level and can safely answer that. ]

...That's correct. And you're...Ishimaru-senpai? Ishimaru-san? Ishimaru-kun?

[And that's about when Mondo realizes that they have a guest. He looks incredibly sheepish for a moment, running a hand back through the shorter locks of dark hair on his neck, but then he recognizes the girl.]

Ah, hey, Nanami! I didn't know you were coming to stay with us!

[Mondo grins widely, clearly pleased to have her here. The conversation with the other members of his class hasn't been forgotten, but Nanami was very nice to him and that means a lot. He's not really sure what to make of everything that was said in the class trial round table discussion anyway.]

So are you gonna hang out here for the holidays?

[That's another person he'll have to get a gift for...!]

Kuwata-senpai said there would be a Christmas party...in terms of a party, I've never been to one that lasted...or to a Christmas celebration. Although I've done Santa's gambling games, and the Christmas-card creation game...

Do you think making cards is the same in real life?

but while he's discussed this particular aspect of the world before it's always good to get new perspectives from people who knew the... games... reasonably well]

...ah, yes. I've heard of that particular aspect of this world - the fact that it's very similar to some sort of game that exists in some worlds - and that's always seemed a bit strange to me. I've heard there are some differences, but I was never terribly clear on what they were.

There are lots of differences...those two games were published in 1996. There were only 150 types of Pokemon, but that's clearly not the case here...and the four-move limit, that doesn't exist, either.

...More than that, the plot is missing, but since this isn't a "game" but is a "world", I guess that makes sense?

I know what you mean about your first job. Being cooped up while other people are out having fun is bad enough, but when you're forced to sit there and watch them all playing it's almost like you're being punished for something.
