craven castle: private conversation, week 2, friday
WHO: Nanami & Kuzuryuu & Feferi.
WHEN: Week 2, Friday evening post-trial.
WHAT: Apollo asks for people to escort the suspects around. APOLLO HAS HECKED UP.
[ Apollo, you tried. Really, you did. But you see...the problem with the volunteers to guard people thing was that you agreed to let the actual culprit guarded by a designated killer and the actual mastermind.
You could not possibly have agreed to a worse pairing. And indeed, as soon as Feferi's door is open and they're all inside, and more importantly once the door is locked, Nanami swings her pink cat backpack off her shoulder, opening it up. ]
All right. Your items...I'll take them in case they decide to do room checks. They should be here somewhere...right?
[ Sorry, Apollo. ]

I did it. That was--that was really nerve-wracking! [She laughs a little, but it's nervous energy that she can finally express and not actual mirth.]

[Man, the realness of this situation really just kind of shot through the roof. Well...okay, it had been progressively going higher and higher through the roof as the trial wore on but...]
I can only imagine... [Well, for now, anyway. He's going to have to have a turn sooner or later as well...] I'll admit though, that went better than I fucking thought it would. When they brought the body in and I saw the damn puncture wounds...
[Ngl, he thought you were absolutely going to fail, Feferi.]
no subject
That's it. The final thing that could absolutely tie Feferi to it. Now, they'll just always wonder, even if they argue about it or think they figure it out... ]
...You did it. I'm...really, really glad you got through this, Feferi. Better still, I don't think...anyone knows exactly where they went wrong. You'll be suspicious, but...
[ ...BUT... ]
...No more so than three other people. They only have you under surveillance, and if we need you for group things, it's easy enough to volunteer for that, while you can hang out with other people otherwise. Aside from Aoi, that...was the best possible outcome. ...For us.
[ She still sounds sad, but the relief is very real. She didn't want to see Feferi die. Or Aoi, and Nanami hadn't even prepared for that one. ]

While you two are here, can you help me move my desk in front of the balcony door? I should probably do that even if I know no one really broke in.
no subject
[A moment of silence for Kurashiki...we barely knew thee.]
But sure, no problem. If someone happened to look in here, you of all people would look really damn suspicious for not having your balcony barricaded.
[He'll move over to the desk. Ah yes, what a great team for desk moving.]

[ GOD WHY ARE THEY ALL SO TINY...
Nanami will head over, too, looking unenthusiastic but prepared to help out. ]
...As long as we're in here, though - why is Pekoyama-san so upset with you, Kuzuryuu-kun? I thought you had an alliance. ...When you have an alliance, usually...the other person isn't supposed to want you dead...?
[ How are we doing this. Nanami will take the end that would...mean she gets to push instead of pull and walk backwards. ]
no subject
And it also might explain something else, but that's not relevant. She looks curiously at Kuzuryuu.]
You and Peko did seem like you were ignoring each other. Is it that bad? [Does Peko want to kill you now how did that happen...]
no subject
Huh...I was wondering how you managed it...
[He was there for the potato sack relay, after all. Knowing who had done it actually made that whole thing about 5x weirder. Because there was no way she was that good at faking...also those potatoes were really damn heavy.]
[But okay, that other thing.]
But about Pekoyama...we've still got an alliance. Especially since she fucking owes me for covering her ass last week. I told you, it's kind of a complicated situation though, it was always meant to be temporary and I'm pretty sure she only approached me about it to ensure her own safety. [Big mistake.] Because of my position, she can't kill me but the same can't be said the other way around. And she's fucking aware of that fact.
Anyway, on Monday I talked to her about helping other people firm up their alibis and how that was a really fucking stupid thing to do. [You know, like you asked him to, Nanami.] And I might have tried to give her a subtle push towards murder at the same time. And I might have taken a few jabs at her pride in order to do so.
[MORE THAN A FEW, REALLY...]
...I accidentally hit her with a door too.
[Everything about that interaction was terrible. It started out bad and then it just got worse.]
no subject
You...hit her with a door?
[ Let's start with the most basic problem with Kuzuryuu's alliance attempts. ]
How do you accidentally hit someone with - ah. When she was timing herself?
[ Nanami had seen Peko running at breakneck speeds... ]
...Well, it's true we need other people to act. I don't want any of you to have to go more than once.
[ And now that they all have grips on the table...LET'S MOVE IT! ]
no subject
She was timing herself? [Feferi missed that.] Is she trying to look suspicious?
[Desk moving go!]
no subject
Yeah, she was running all over the damn place, timing how long it took to get from room to room. Good idea but...fucking terrible way to actually do it. [LIKE HALF THE CASTLE SAW HER.] I was coming out of our wing and didn't realize she was right behind the damn door.
[It legitimately was an accident.]
But yeah, I know we do. And she was stupid enough to all but hand me a button that says "push here for murder". So I saw my opportunity and I took it.
[And with this week's incentive...he will probably jab even harder at that button. Holy shit, he's going to feel so bad about this once he gets his memories back.]
no subject
[ Granted, if he tried Nanami would stop that nonsense, but. ]
...Just be careful not to push her to the point she'd hurt you. What "button" did she hand you, anyway?
[ HAHA MEMORIES...the SDR2s are going to curl up and die. ]
no subject
As long as she doesn't target any of us it would be really helpful if other people would krill, too. [Then they wouldn't have to vote for the wrong person multiple times in a row.]
no subject
Well yeah, I already look suspicious no matter what. And I've got way too much at stake to go around making that worse. Like I said though, she can't kill me. She's indebted to me now on top of not wanting to potentially cause trouble for her family by killing a rival's successor.
[Kuzuryuu holds all the cards.]
As for her "button," that would be her master. Pekoyama's not just any regular hired gun. She serves one man, and one man only. To the point where she doesn't even see herself as a person, just a tool for his use. Whatever he wants her to do, she's supposed to do without question and without fail.
...they took away her memories of him. His face, his name...from what I understand, all she remembers is that he's the heir to his family. Which...she also can't fucking remember.
[Okay and this would be why part of him actually feels bad about exploiting this. He's not really crazy about this system and boy is he ever glad that he doesn't have a hitman/bodyguard like this. He wouldn't be able to take it!]
And that seemed to be the only thing that was fucking stopping her. The only motive she really needs is immunity so that she can return to his side. But since she can't remember him...she's hesitating. She probably would have killed week one had Marlowe not beat her to the damn punch.
no subject
He's a good person. He understands about caring for people, even if he clearly doesn't like someone being a "tool" for another person.
Unfortunately, the situation... ]
...And now incentives from previous weeks can also be taken, if certain conditions are met. So...to retrieve her memories...and possibly if a chance comes to protect him...?
