first game; VIDEO. action for new bark i guess but who is even in new bark right now?
[ It takes her no time at all to figure out how to work the gear. Nanami is good with electronics, especially the handheld sort that hold games on them (and she did look at the games that came preloaded first off, and then wasted some of her starter cash on one or two of the others...) so it was easy.
...Except that after she finished playing around with that, Nanami spent several days trying to play the game. As in "Pokémon". She eventually gives this up, but it admittedly takes a while. After turning on the video function, she pauses. Takes a moment to collect her thoughts. This is accomplished by staring off into space before refocusing. ]
...Hello. My name is Nanami Chiaki. I’m a Super High-school Level Gamer. ...I'm pretty good with all genres.
[ That's the unimportant stuff. Moving on to the stuff that actually matters: ]
...Although this is certainly "Pokémon", it's a sequel or something, right? New locations, new creatures...even so, there are so many differences compared to that game, aren't there? Almost too many...
[ She puffs out her cheeks, a silent pout, before continuing past her pause. ]
...I started out with a partner already, without having to visit the Professor. There was no point where I was supposed to choose my partner...or my gender, or name, although I don't mind that. ...While I like Munna, that's a little weird, isn't it? And even if the plot is different in this game, which is normal...
I haven't been able to trigger any quests so far, you know? Or tutorials. ...Maybe that ferry to Kanto would be the right choice, but couldn't that be a case of skipping ahead to the boss area without being properly leveled? That I haven't even had a rival encounter, isn't that worrying?
[ Nanami falls silent for a second before her main concern comes out, said more quietly than the rest, though she hadn't been speaking loudly to start with. ]
...It's not working properly.
[ That's...that's apparently all she wanted to bring up...? Trapped in the world of Pokémon, her main concern is apparently that the game is wrong. Where are the quests she knows she ought to be having, or the characters she ought to be meeting? Perhaps it's best to leave her to it...Ah, no, wait. It appears she has a bit more to say. ]
...If there's a new sequence to trigger the main quest, I'd like to know that, please. I'll keep trying to find it in the meantime. ...Ah, it's hard to trigger secret codes if you're in the game itself, isn't it...? At least, the normal codes are a no-go. I'll have to think of something else.
[ ...never mind, this is absolutely the time to leave her to her thoughts. Nanami ends the video after another pause, undoubtedly going off to try to "start" her game once again. ]

[ After all, having fun is the entire point of games, right? And if he has not all the same type, it works out. ]
...As to that, I wouldn't mind going there sometime. At the moment, I'm supposed to go to Violet, though. It's the first badge location, right? So...that's probably why.

Think you can make it to Goldenrod in time for Christmas? I'm not sure if we're having a party at the house, but if we are you're totally invited.

[ The routes must be super stretched out... ]
...I've never been to a Christmas party before. I'd...really like to go to one.

You kidding me!? Christmas parties are fun! Well I guess they're kinda like normal parties, but you can get presents from your friends. And you get away with doing crazy stuff too cause it's Christmas an' everyone's in a good mood. You've definitely got to make it for Christmas! Tell ya what, I'll meet you at Violet, and then I'll fly you to Goldenrod. Flying's definitely the way to go around here, cause it's the fastest.

[ Does...standing outside of a party count? ]
And Christmas...I've never celebrated it. Although I have done Santa's gambling games, I don't think that's the same thing.
[ No one is ever going to get that reference, Nanami.
She's a bit startled by the offer, honestly. ]
...Really? Ah, but would Shaun-kun be able to come? I promised to meet him there. His travel partner left, I think.
[ He is also eleven and she'd feel bad abandoning him to the elements.
Even if Nanami as a guardian is not really great since she doesn't know how to cook outside of Cooking Mama and real life stuff is hard. ]

[ Although he has been at the hands of a homicidal maniac before, he definitely isn't one!
Maybe he can like, bond with people over it? ]
If that's the case, I'd...be more than happy to accept. Thank you very much!
[ A party!! A Christmas party.
If she had a diary, this would be what the entire next month's entries would be about. ]

[He, he can't resist.
Actually, speaking of worlds...if Nanami is the class after him, then...does she know about everything that happened with Monokuma and everyone else?]
...Hey Nanami-san, I err, got a question for ya.
Do you...do you know who Monokuma is?
1/2
Dating sims. ]
...Thank you.
[ Do you really think she's cute? ]

...It's not that she dislikes or doesn't trust him, despite what she knows, but...
...right now, her instructions are not to talk to the non-members about it, right?
While she doesn't have any problems about this with Celes, there's a flash of sincere apologetic unease, now. ]
I...about that topic...right now, I don't want to talk about it.
I'm...really sorry, Kuwata-senpai. ...I think I'll probably be able to tell you what you want to know soon, but for now...could I please ask you not to ask me about that thing?

Shit, he's...he's made you play that game, didn't he!? It's ok Nanami-san, he's not here so he can't do anything to you anymore!! An' even if he was, we've got Pokemon, an' Ishimaru and Mondo has level 99 ones so if he even shows his ugly face we'll trash him and make'im regret ever doin' all that stuff to us!
[Even now, knowing that Monobear was out there somewhere, still playing his sick games...or was it Enoshima? Enoshima, and her obsession with creating despair. Whichever it was, Leon felt his muscles tense up; it's hard to get rid of fear when it's so tightly ingrained in your body.]
...it's ok Nanami-san, I get it. I won't ask you about it, 'cause it's...it's hard to talk about it, isn't it? I was the same way too when I got here, so I get it, really I do.

[ That's a relief, at least. ...On a few counts. Though...she really hopes he doesn't actually show up here. It would be bad. ]
...There are things that are...really hard to talk about, it's true.
...When's your birthday?
[ She'll just...change the topic.......... ]

What about yours?
no subject
[ ...And yes, that matches someone else's birthday. ]
...What sorts of things are you wishing for, for your birthday? I guess a green suit and a sword and shield, you missed that birthday already...

[The sad thing is he doesn't know/remember Fujisaki's birthday. He hasn't even been told about Fujisaki's secret. It's sad when you die so early on in the game, you miss out on a lot of exposition.]
Me? Well I'm a simple guy! Just get me somethin' that's punk! 'Cause punk's really the best thing that's ever been created, ever!
Hey Nanami-san, do you know punk bands? Like the 'Sex Pistols'? They're the godfather of punk music, and their music is just amazing. They're all about fightin' the system an' makin' your own way in life, no rules and obligations to stop you from livin' your dreams! They're like my idols, an' one day I'm gonna follow in their footsteps to be the next SHSL Rock Star!

[ A party with cake wouldn't be bad either, though. ]
Punk...I can't say I've listened to much music outside of game tracks. Well, Mioda-san did give us a concert once, but I'm not sure what genre you'd classify that as. I wouldn't mind listening to the "Sex Pistols" sometime, though. Changing your SHSL title...that'd be pretty amazing. I think you can definitely do it.
