Nanami is good with electronics, especially the handheld sort that hold games on them (and she did look at the games that came preloaded first off, and then wasted some of her starter cash on one or two of the others...) so it was easy.

...Except that after she finished playing around with that, Nanami spent several days trying to play the game. As in "Pokémon". She eventually gives this up, but it admittedly takes a while. After turning on the video function, she pauses. Takes a moment to collect her thoughts. This is accomplished by staring off into space before refocusing. ]

I haven't been able to trigger any quests so far, you know? Or tutorials. ...Maybe that ferry to Kanto would be the right choice, but couldn't that be a case of skipping ahead to the boss area without being properly leveled? That I haven't even had a rival encounter, isn't that worrying?

[ Nanami falls silent for a second before her main concern comes out, said more quietly than the rest, though she hadn't been speaking loudly to start with. ]

[ That's...that's apparently all she wanted to bring up...? Trapped in the world of Pokémon, her main concern is apparently that the game is wrong. Where are the quests she knows she ought to be having, or the characters she ought to be meeting? Perhaps it's best to leave her to it...Ah, no, wait. It appears she has a bit more to say. ]

...If there's a new sequence to trigger the main quest, I'd like to know that, please. I'll keep trying to find it in the meantime. ...Ah, it's hard to trigger secret codes if you're in the game itself, isn't it...? At least, the normal codes are a no-go. I'll have to think of something else.

[ ...never mind, this is absolutely the time to leave her to her thoughts. Nanami ends the video after another pause, undoubtedly going off to try to "start" her game once again. ]

Well, from what I've seen of kyoudai's, they're a good species of Pokémon! You shouldn't have any trouble with him!

[Mondo glances somewhere off-screen for a moment and loudly shouts for someone. After a moment he turns the 'Gear to focus on a... pants-lizard.]

...So that's super effective and super weak against Psychic at the same time.

[ Nanami, for her part, peers at the screen closely. This is definitely another new pokemon, since she hasn't memorized the pokedex yet.

Yeah, it is, but unless you use some kinda move, Psychic doesn't effect her at all! It's pretty fucking great!

[What's not so great is the fact that she's weak against Fighting-types. Most of his Pokémon are. Probably because he raises mostly Dark-types.]

She's kinda a pain in the ass, but yeah, she's definitely strong! She's level 100!

[Ryder smirks at that, looking very pleased with Nanami's words.]

So if I were ever to face you in battle, I'd have to train a lot and get other types...I see.

I hadn't had one before I showed up here either. It's alright, work's pretty easy. You can work at the Pokémart or the Pokémon Center, and I think there are a few other places, like the Game Corner. It's pretty fucking boring, but at least you'll get some money for it.

Ah, if it's not run by Team Rocket, I want to work at the Game Corner.
