first game; VIDEO. action for new bark i guess but who is even in new bark right now?
[ It takes her no time at all to figure out how to work the gear. Nanami is good with electronics, especially the handheld sort that hold games on them (and she did look at the games that came preloaded first off, and then wasted some of her starter cash on one or two of the others...) so it was easy.
...Except that after she finished playing around with that, Nanami spent several days trying to play the game. As in "Pokémon". She eventually gives this up, but it admittedly takes a while. After turning on the video function, she pauses. Takes a moment to collect her thoughts. This is accomplished by staring off into space before refocusing. ]
...Hello. My name is Nanami Chiaki. I’m a Super High-school Level Gamer. ...I'm pretty good with all genres.
[ That's the unimportant stuff. Moving on to the stuff that actually matters: ]
...Although this is certainly "Pokémon", it's a sequel or something, right? New locations, new creatures...even so, there are so many differences compared to that game, aren't there? Almost too many...
[ She puffs out her cheeks, a silent pout, before continuing past her pause. ]
...I started out with a partner already, without having to visit the Professor. There was no point where I was supposed to choose my partner...or my gender, or name, although I don't mind that. ...While I like Munna, that's a little weird, isn't it? And even if the plot is different in this game, which is normal...
I haven't been able to trigger any quests so far, you know? Or tutorials. ...Maybe that ferry to Kanto would be the right choice, but couldn't that be a case of skipping ahead to the boss area without being properly leveled? That I haven't even had a rival encounter, isn't that worrying?
[ Nanami falls silent for a second before her main concern comes out, said more quietly than the rest, though she hadn't been speaking loudly to start with. ]
...It's not working properly.
[ That's...that's apparently all she wanted to bring up...? Trapped in the world of Pokémon, her main concern is apparently that the game is wrong. Where are the quests she knows she ought to be having, or the characters she ought to be meeting? Perhaps it's best to leave her to it...Ah, no, wait. It appears she has a bit more to say. ]
...If there's a new sequence to trigger the main quest, I'd like to know that, please. I'll keep trying to find it in the meantime. ...Ah, it's hard to trigger secret codes if you're in the game itself, isn't it...? At least, the normal codes are a no-go. I'll have to think of something else.
[ ...never mind, this is absolutely the time to leave her to her thoughts. Nanami ends the video after another pause, undoubtedly going off to try to "start" her game once again. ]

private;
...You just woke up on it? How did you get to the island?
private;
My classmates...no one remembered anything about that part.
[ Man, she's nailing these vague statements that are technically true but also absolve her of responsibility for specific parts of it. ]
private;
[ He's getting a bad feeling about this. A really bad feeling. ]
Nanami-san, that's kidnapping and not a field trip.
private;
[ ...She already sort of told Kirigiri, surely this can't... ]
...Naegi-senpai. What is it that you remember?
private;
private;
...that might not make sense to everyone, right?
[ ...Or anyone. ]
private;
[ ... ]
"The Future Foundation" doesn't make sense to me. I've never heard of it until just now. Sorry.
private;
The answer to your question about the date is "more than a year after you graduated".
private;
[ The word "graduation" has different connotations in murderschool, and they never got a normal graduation in a normal school. ]
...Do you understand what I mean?
private;
[ Which...probably says more than it doesn't. ]
Ah, I never graduated. ...Do you understand what I mean?
private;
T-then... [ Calm down. Deep breath. ] You said it was meant to be a field trip. What happened?
private;
Well, she has to answer, doesn't she? ]
...For a little while it was calm. Our teacher wanted us to build bonds between friends, and gain hope. And then that guy showed up, and it...changed.
private;
That guy...was Monobear, wasn't it?
private;
[ You can guess what happens next, right? ]
private;
private;
But you didn't say it at the same time, so I don't think anything happens now.
[ ..............? Okay. ]
private;
[ YOU LOST HIM AT THAT LAST SENTENCE, GIRL. ]
private;
[ Welcome to Hinata's life and goodbye to the topic at hand. ]
private;
[ Okay, questions. He still has a ton of those, but at this point he's beginning to feel bad about bombarding the poor newcomer with them. ]
Kirigiri-san's probably asked you a lot of questions by now, hasn't she?
private;
[ She has no problems confirming that, as she wasn't told to stay quiet about it. ]
...She knows the basics of it, now. And she wants to be friends.
[ Take that as you will, Naegi. ]
private;
Did she say that? [ That's a little unexpected but hey, Kirigiri being social is always a good thing. ]
I want us two to be friends too, Nanami-san.
private;
[ So it follows that she wants to be friends, right?
Nanami's pretty sure her logic on this one is good. ]
...I'd also like to be friends with Naegi-senpai.
private;
I've asked you a bunch of things, so it's your turn now. I've been in this world for over eight months, so is there anything you want to know before you set out on your journey?
private;
...It's a gamer thing. ]
...Things I want to know?
[ Well, now that she knows there isn't a main plot to trigger...that doesn't really matter so much. And since that's the case, asking for spoilers would be silly. No need to ruin the experience.
...So, what does she want to ask? ]
...If I can ask anything, I'd like a story about Fujisaki Chihiro. I don't care what it's about.
private;
Um, we didn't really get the chance to hang out much [ because chapter two happened ] but I can tell you about some of the things we talked about.
