first game; VIDEO. action for new bark i guess but who is even in new bark right now?
[ It takes her no time at all to figure out how to work the gear. Nanami is good with electronics, especially the handheld sort that hold games on them (and she did look at the games that came preloaded first off, and then wasted some of her starter cash on one or two of the others...) so it was easy.
...Except that after she finished playing around with that, Nanami spent several days trying to play the game. As in "Pokémon". She eventually gives this up, but it admittedly takes a while. After turning on the video function, she pauses. Takes a moment to collect her thoughts. This is accomplished by staring off into space before refocusing. ]
...Hello. My name is Nanami Chiaki. I’m a Super High-school Level Gamer. ...I'm pretty good with all genres.
[ That's the unimportant stuff. Moving on to the stuff that actually matters: ]
...Although this is certainly "Pokémon", it's a sequel or something, right? New locations, new creatures...even so, there are so many differences compared to that game, aren't there? Almost too many...
[ She puffs out her cheeks, a silent pout, before continuing past her pause. ]
...I started out with a partner already, without having to visit the Professor. There was no point where I was supposed to choose my partner...or my gender, or name, although I don't mind that. ...While I like Munna, that's a little weird, isn't it? And even if the plot is different in this game, which is normal...
I haven't been able to trigger any quests so far, you know? Or tutorials. ...Maybe that ferry to Kanto would be the right choice, but couldn't that be a case of skipping ahead to the boss area without being properly leveled? That I haven't even had a rival encounter, isn't that worrying?
[ Nanami falls silent for a second before her main concern comes out, said more quietly than the rest, though she hadn't been speaking loudly to start with. ]
...It's not working properly.
[ That's...that's apparently all she wanted to bring up...? Trapped in the world of Pokémon, her main concern is apparently that the game is wrong. Where are the quests she knows she ought to be having, or the characters she ought to be meeting? Perhaps it's best to leave her to it...Ah, no, wait. It appears she has a bit more to say. ]
...If there's a new sequence to trigger the main quest, I'd like to know that, please. I'll keep trying to find it in the meantime. ...Ah, it's hard to trigger secret codes if you're in the game itself, isn't it...? At least, the normal codes are a no-go. I'll have to think of something else.
[ ...never mind, this is absolutely the time to leave her to her thoughts. Nanami ends the video after another pause, undoubtedly going off to try to "start" her game once again. ]

suddenly private;
...But if she's aware if it without remembering it...]
So someone told you about it?
suddenly private;
You could say that. We heard about that thing from that guy, and also...through our own investigations.
[ ................
Unfortunately even a helpful Nanami is pretty vague. ]
suddenly private;
Who is "that guy"?
suddenly private;
[ That guy, you know. ]
...I don't consider him a reliable source of information.
[ To say the very least. ]
suddenly private;
THE
GENTLY CARESS]
Nanami-san, are you dead?
suddenly private; PROBABLY SPOILERS FROM HERE.
...Before I answer that, will you answer a question of mine?
...I'd like to know...who it is I'm speaking with.
NOTHING BUT SPOILERS FROM HERE ON OUT
My name is Kyouko Kirigiri.
PRETTY MUCH ALL OF THEM
Though...
Why don't you know me? ]
...I thought this was probably what happened after death until Hagakure-senpai spoke to me.
no subject
no subject
[ For multiple reasons.
"Were you killed by Monobear?"
Isn't that another question, really? ]
In that "field trip of mutual killing", I...did not survive. I'm sorry.
no subject
STILL FOREVER PRIVATE WHOOPS
[ Ummm...how much to say... ]
YEAH ASSUME THAT EVERYTHING SINCE THE INITIAL THING HAS BEEN PRIVATE
[So many questions to ask, so little time. But there's something that's bothering her...]
Why are you apologizing for failing to survive?
[That's...not a normal reaction to death, is it?
SAYS KIRIGIRI, THE MASTER OF ALL THINGS ABNORMAL WHEN IT COMES TO DEATH]PRIVATE
She hadn't meant to say that, although it's true. ]
...You remind me of someone who asked me to look after my friends.
To that person...those people, I'm sorry. Although...I think my classmates will survive. That fact, I absolutely refuse not to believe it.
PRIVATE
Is that correct?
PRIVATE
...After yours.
PRIVATE
PRIVATE
Then the question should be "How do you plan around 'Death'", shouldn't it?
PRIVATE
...
Where are the survivors of the 78th class of Hope's Peak, Nanami-san?
PRIVATE
[ True. ]
As to the file, it was something we attained. A summary of...the events of the "Mutual School Killing".
[ ...Let's not get into what she did or didn't know before seeing that, okay.
And furthermore, clear up one important point. ]
That thing, it isn't a game. A game is something you get something from. Calling it a game...that's incorrect!
PRIVATE
...
Wait. She'd said something. Something strange...]
Are you saying Junko Enoshima planned to die, and left behind some way of making sure that another killing...event would follow?
PRIVATE
...I died before we found out, if we did.
PRIVATE
[...Or, well. Someone's lying, anyway.]
Has anyone from outside the...Island...tried to interfere with the killing event?
PRIVATE
There wasn't any protocol for this. ]
...One of those statements is true, and one is false. But I haven't lied to you.
[ She hasn't told the whole truth, either, though. ]
I think...those people who told me to look after my friends, they've probably tried to stop it. Since it hasn't stopped...something has to be stopping them from doing so.
PRIVATE
Good lord, it's like the kind of thing she likes to pull on people— ]
Do you know the names and identities of the people who told you to look after your friends?
